A beautiful Bible that delivers all that is promised except in one area - the description says it has "thicker cream paper for enduring note-taking". The paper is fine if you are taking notes in the margin area with most pens and pencils, however, for art journaling, the use of any sort of liquid media (gesso, water coloring, etc.) causes extreme wrinkling and drawing up of the page. (I understand that some of the wrinkling will smooth out after awhile, so I may just have to get used to the fact that the page will never be completely smooth, as those I've seen in many YouTube videos, even with using the same exact products.) Bleed through can also occur, even using those products touted as non-bleeding. Ghosting shadows on the back side of an embellished page is to be expected; with some products it is definitely worse than with others. Colored pencils are one product that does not cause the wrinkling or bleed through, as do the Pigma Micron .005 pens, so perhaps these should be the tools I use with this Bible. This is my first foray into Bible art journaling. I love the idea of digging in to God's word and expressing how it speaks to me on the pages, so I will continue and learn as I go!
This is a beautiful Bible, but check your copy. Mine was missing pages. For instance, it jumped from page #1742 to page #1775
Just got this Bible today and it's beautiful. Nice wide margins for notes or art journaling, font is good size so it's easy to read. The font is comparable to an Arial font about a size 9.5 to 10. The binding seems to be of good quality, but we will see after I get a chance to use it a lot. The color on the front cover is slightly more of a blue than teal but it is really pretty. I can't wait to start taking notes and art journaling in it! Super happy so far!!
It is a beautiful bible altogether. The large print is very nice and inviting to read, and the space for journaling is great! The material of the cover is soft leather that looks and feels premium with engraved letters on the side. Large but flexible to manage and for the book to stay open while you read. However, I gave it 4 stars because I was looking for a bible for journaling, reading and ART COLORING. The pictures on the website suggest it also has art to color, but that is misleading/incorrect. That said, again, if you are looking for a beautiful Bible that invites you to read and journal in your thoughts, THIS IS IT!
Beautiful Bible. Plenty of room in margin for notes and/or artwork. Margin is faintly lined to keep note taking straight. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a Bible of journaling.
I am really loving journaling in this Bible. I have found I like good colored pencils best. Sakura pens (like for Zentangles) work pretty well for outlines. I have found that putting a piece of cardstock or photo paper below the page I am drawing on will help protect bleeding through to the next opposite page if using markers, but good colored pencils are my favorite. I have designed a lot of banners for my church and am adding sketches of those near their scriptures, too. It is a pleasure to hold and touch this Bible, too. It is so pretty. Now all those empty margins are calling me to come draw on them!
This Bible.....BEST EVER!!! I look forward to my early morning studies and being able to take notes by each chapter is just awesome! Wish I had it years ago! I also love how the chapters have “headings†describing content of the chapter.
Hard to take notes in a soft covered Bible on your lap. I thought it would be a hard cover like the floral cover on the regular print Bible
