I purchased 2 of these 5 year journals, one for myself and one for my sister after she graduated with her Bachelors. The book is beautiful with a gold page lining and for each day you get about 4 lines to write in a quick summary. All together it is a cute little book to keep in your night stand to summarize your days events for 5 years. The cons on the book are its size, its literally no bigger than my hand and though some of the reviews comment on the binding being tight in the middle and making it a little harder to write in towards the binding, this I personally don't see as a problem. The page is cute and has a Jane Austen quote at the top and 5 different lines for you to add the last 2 digits of the year and about 4 lines per day/year to make a quick summary of your day. All in all it is a cute book and I enjoy that it has Jane Austen in it and allows me to read her work daily, but I do hate how small the diary is. I received a 5 year journal that was the size of a normal diary back when I graduated high school and I was hoping this was the same size... it was not. But if you love Jane Austen and dont mind the mini size, I recommend this product!
Smaller than expected. However it is a really beautiful journal. The back came with this sticker and I panicked thinking those annoying remains of the sticker would not come off but I only needed to scratch the leftovers with my finger nail. I just finished my last 5 year journal and was hunting for another one. Glad I decided on this one as it is truly pretty and compact enough I can take with me on over night trips so I can still jot down thoughts and events from the day.
I like the cover and the small size makes it kind of fun and easy to jot notes or quick ideas in. It's not for long, passionate confessions, just short ones. Other reviewers here said the quotes weren't always accurate. What I noticed is that a lot of the quotes are flat, and I'm not sure how much that has to to with accuracy, and how much to context. Certainly, Jane Austen was witty. I'd have given it that last star if they'd taken better quotes from her work.
This small format book is absolutely beautiful! It has gold edged pages and an engraved cover that makes it look like a beautiful classic novel! I got it as a gift and was delighted in how nice it was!
I chose this rating for a few reasons: it's small compact size makes it so easy to take with you (backpack, purse, suitcase) and it doesn't weigh a lot either. The pages are gold edged and just makes it look classy too. Each page has a quote from Jane Austen's books (and is a great daily literary dose :) And there are about 3/4 lines for each entry- such a unique way to journal and track what you've been doing for the past 5 years. I've given it as a gift to people who travel a lot, book worms, or just really creative people who will appreciate it.
Love the idea of logging a thought everyday for five years...however I can be lazy sometimes and forget.
High quality. I love the gold-edged pages and thick cover. Great gift, but I ended up using it myself ;) Perfect for Jane Austen fans. Love it!
I love this journal. I've been using one that was given to me as a thoughtful gift. It's now my favorite gift to give to girlfriends.
