Go on Youtube and listen to Maya recite some of her poetry. Then read this book with her voice in your head. Some very powerful stuff, some fun, some really good poetry and some not so much, but the whole package reveals a great deal, and taken as a whole, is marvelous.

my sister and I are missing maya angelou. her passing was sad despite her age. her books sold out in my town (her home of winston salem) within hours of her death. on line choices were on long back order. I purchased this as a gift for my sister and know she has enjoyed maya's talent with words.
