Absolutely everything you could possibly want to know about homeowners associations and covenants in Texas collected on a few hundred pages of well-written prose. I have found the book exceedingly helpful in proving to a power-hungry neighbor that our covenants are no longer valid, as they have been violated repeatedly and not enforced for more than 20 years. The book also would be useful if you are tryimg tp set up a homeowners association or a condominium association (the rules are different). The price is high, but if you need it, you really need it.
This book is definitely worth it's price and can pay for itself in spades regardless of wether or not you are a board member or a homeowner. Mr. Cagle really did his homework on this and lays out a great blueprint for how an association should be run.As a homeowner you are given all the information you need to know in order to make requests from your HOA that they cannot give the run around to.As a board, you are given all the information you need to know to keep your HOA out of leagal troubles and are given pragmatic advise on what you can and can't do. After all you still have to follow the laws.Thank you Mr. Cagle for writing this book.
very comprehensive reference guide for being on the board of an HOA. Too bad the board I was on didn't care about the actual law. I recommend this book as an excellent reference resource.
As a rural HOA member we had so many questions and our board didn't have the answers. This book did. I would recommend to any HOA group.
We all know dealing with homeowners associations can be an intimidating process. With all the power these associations yield it's a good idea to know exactly what's going on, this book helped clarify questions I had. However it's not a replacement for an attorney. If you don't speak legal then don't think this will help you out of a tough bind.
